The Rev just called and said no one was commin', but if you know the Devious than you know when I set out to do something it gets done, and done right. I'm out to honor and support my friend tonight, and though tired and weary I will, because I said I will. The Rev says he'll still meet the lot of us so that's where my group and me will be. So I got an e-mail from a friend of mine this morning and he asked me if I remembered this Israeli Art student that had stopped by our office, back at Ethentica ( three jobs ago ). Of course I did, she was really cute and nice too. At the time I didn't think much of it. We all had a cigarette and chatted about stuff... you know typicall small talk stuff.. She asked Roger and I what we did at Ethentica.. so we asked her what selling art door-to-door was like. etc. The event passed without incident... forgotten till today... He sent me the following story.

I will be favoring my friends with selected works I made last night waiting at the Saucer. No one except Ms. Lady showed. It was fun, just her and I but still... Anyhow here's the first in a sampling of three..

4:25 pm - Hacker, Back Hoes and Fork Lifts! Oh my!

In recent news...
Ths IDS web server has hacked into last weekend. Luckily for me the guy was an idiot and didn't check my glibc version and tried to do something dumb and crashed the machine before he could affect a wipe of my logs and his "tools". Unfortunantly IDS was just another server in a long chain... The attck came from a server in Brazil, and they didn't know where their attack came from... However, I captured his root kit. If any of you linux admin types are interested in obtaing a copy of the root kit let me know... it is an invaluable security tool. Very helpful in shoring up your defenses. Just a note our system was infiltrated via Wu-FTP. There is a buffer overflow error that allows one to execute code chunks as root... Very nasty.
...and from the DAMMIT dept!
The storage facility I keep my stuff in was broken into... twice! In one of the two attempts the robbers made off with a box containing a couple check books of mine and have been cashing checks all over. It pisses me off because I can't even cash one of my own checks and they are mine!!! These punks have made off with over $700 in bad checks and the totals keep rising! I still say Starship Troopers had the right idea... Get out the whip... it's lash time!!!

He had a blackout this morning and half of our UPS's failed because they've been sitting around for three years. Just another, oh, so valuable lesson in take nothing for granted.

Morpheus is now just another second rate Gnutella client, because someone broke the FastRak/KAZAA network and were writing directly to the Win32 system registry. So Morpheus clan check those registries!!! Serves us right for using a system with an unsecured system registry that anyone in the world can write to. Yikes!
...and finally.
Did anyone hear about the wreck on 30 today? Appearantly a fork lift fell off a bridge and killed a 96.7 radio DJ. Just goes to show you that... I dunno... watch out for fork lifts. I bring it up not because I intend disrespect toward the DJ or his family... I just hate finding new ways to die on I-30.

I finally caught the crap that's been going around. I hate calling in sick when I am actually sick... It defeats the purpose of taking a day off if you have to spend it coughing and wheezing with a sore throat. Blech! For as much fun as I am having right now I may as well have gone in to work. This sucks.
